Monday, November 8th at Chop Suey (Madison and 14th Street) $6, tbass and his band Shoot The Hostage have a show.

If we get a big turn out of people saying to the doorman "Hey, has Shoot The Hostage played yet?" we will be showing them that the band can draw fans. This means that when a cool-ass touring band comes 'round these here parts, Shoot The Hostage could get booked as the opener.

It's been awesome how many people have shown up for shows, but it's THIS ONE that's a super break! The booker from another venue, The 2-Bit Saloon, got hired to book Chop Suey, which is a mid-level venue here that gets a lot of punk bands and actual names.

He was like "Hey, you guys rocked at the 2-Bit, want to join a show here?"

Um, yes?

With the poster advertising 8 PM, I put on my coat and hoody and headed out to said Suey De Chop to buy a ticket. The place was deserted. The above beautiful poster was not to be seen.

Out front, I saw the sign saying that Shoot the Hostage doesn't go on until 9:45. Too late for me, but I figured I would buy a ticket anyway. No go. The doors were locked and the box office appeared abandoned. Wah.
