Today is the first time in my life that a school I'm attending has had a snow day!

*happy dance, engage!*

Hurricane days, sure, but never a snow day!

I especially love the George Washington bit:
"This resplendently bedecked man, with his pet bald eagle perched on his shoulder, strutted about with unabashed confidence and pride, like America itself," Washington is quoted as saying in the article. "At once, I knew I must make this radiant son of liberty's shirt into a glorious flag o'er our nation!"

(ask me later this week though, doubt I'll be that cheery about it)

but in the non-sludgy abstract:

I am inside, it is warm-ish, and I am drinking coffee.

That's a WIN!

Plus they pushed back the due date for the Crazy-Huge Nursing Care Plan Project O'Doom from Nov. 29 to Dec. 6!

Bad craziness!

Our program is s-l-o-w-l-y making the transition to online submission of papers and suchlike.

The drop box for the Multicultural Project filled before half the students had turned things in.

They made TWO MORE dropboxes. Both filled.

I'm just grateful that I did them early, and submitted them early!

Uh, try not to drive anywhere. Seriously. We get a couple of feet of snow here in Pennsylvania most years. The first snowstorm is an unmitigated driving disaster because everyone develops collective amnesia about how to drive in that slop.

Nowhere to drive until Thursday, and we've already told both Moms that if it's crappy, we're not coming over.

Why would you drive in snowy weather in *that* vehicle anyway?!?!?!!?

Growing up in the Northeast, Winter means snow and snow means snow days. I don't know why, but the first few snow falls bring back that elation of snow days - a sudden, wonderful found day of freedom.

It is only after I have to get in the car and drive to work in the slush and slp that joy and elation turn into something colder, slushier, and not so pretty.

It's been a weird feeling kind of day, like "What the hell am I doing home, oh, wait, I'll make more coffee" vibe!

I've had tons of snow days growing up. For me it meant fun times driving in the snow! Sleet and ice, I won't drive in if at all possible, but snow is super fun as long as you can avoid the doofuses who don't know what they're doing.
